Hey, you frequent travelers and cell phone users! Where do you buy your unlocked quad band phones? Also, has anyone tried these companies that offer a world sim card? I found one, where I buy the sim card and have an UK phone number. This could be a great solution for friends and family in England. Incoming txt would be free and outgoing would be $.80. I appreciate any further thoughts or advice on this topic. Thank you.

i wouldn't trust e-bay with a 10 foot poll. Anyways, i like myworldphone.com. They have a good selection of phones to use with talks too.

Ooh, I read that website via google. I'll have to check them out further. Has anyone heard of this service: http://www.mobalrental.com/gsm/sim.asp It looks quite interesting; I'm tempted!

I have to defend EBay here. the only time I ever had a problem was when I tried to buy somethinkg from a seller directly rather then through the ebay site. payed the guy and he never took the item out of the auction. So he got payed twice and I got nothinkg. I would suggest when using ebay at least in my opinion: don't use checks or money orders. use paypal and pay by credit card. this way the transaction is completely traceable and protected. I have never had a problem with paypal. Also, once due to my error in clicking on a link in an e-mail message my account was compromised. I was able to rectify the situation with eBay and get the account reinstated. I have always been satisfied with my cell phone purchases and always get the phone I want. now, I will definately have a look at the site suggested because I am in search of the motorola Pebl. excellent phone and perhaps they might have one.

I was a power seller on Ebay and have bought quite a few things on that site. It's quite a useful and efficient market. I once even shipped something to Tazmania.

Okay! my extreme thanks for the site www.myworldphone.com. There prices are quite good, certainly comparible to EBay and if there shipping is less excellent. Thanks for the tip.
